Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County (CCSCC), in collaboration with the Rotary Club of San Jose, RotaCare Bay Area and The Order of Malta, proudly announces the grand opening of the Rotary Mobile Medical Clinic. This state-of-the-art mobile clinic will provide critical healthcare services to underserved communities throughout San Jose and across Santa Clara County, addressing barriers to medical care by offering free and low-cost services to those in need. Representatives of all of the partner organizations celebrated the opening of the Rotary Mobile Medical Clinic at an event held on October 17 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in San Jose.
Speaking at the opening event, Gregory Kepferle, CEO of CCSCC, called the mobile medical clinic a “dream come true,” noting the project had taken several years of collaborative work among the partners to come to fruition.
The clinic will be staffed by volunteer medical professionals, as well as nursing students, and resident physicians through Kaiser. The mobile clinic will also advance Catholic Charities’ mission of holistic services to address the multiple needs of families. Catholic Charities representatives, on-site with the mobile clinic, will be providing groceries and food distribution, rental assistance, immigration legal services, and support for enrolling in public benefits.
“We are grateful to our partners, including The Health Trust, who made this possible,” Kepferle said. “Catholic Charities has been addressing social inequities for decades and this new mobile medical clinic is critical to meet the health needs of children and families in our communities, while providing a convenient locale for them to get access to other services they need.”
