Franklin-McKinley Children’s Initiative (FMCI)
The Franklin-McKinley Children’s Initiative (FMCI) is a program of Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County. FMCI is a collaborative of more than 30 partner service providers offering programming in and around the Santee neighborhood of San Jose, CA. FMCI works to insulate the cradle-to-career educational pipeline through direct services and partnerships with individuals, community groups, and public and private organizations. These work together in the areas of education, safe and strong neighborhoods, and economic development.
FMCI’s staff oversees and partners with other service providers and committed community members to offer ongoing programs. From after-school and kindergarten readiness programs to senior exercise and support groups, English as a Second Language classes, financial literacy, small business development classes, youth enrichment/intervention, and leadership development, FMCI offers a full range of services and resources to residents of the Santee neighborhood to meet its vision of having every FMCI child graduate from High School prepared for College and Career.
