Parole in Place
On August 26, a federal court in Texas temporarily blocked the Parole in Place (PIP) program for undocumented spouses and stepchildren of U.S. citizens, also referred to as the Keeping Families Together program.
USCIS will be unable to approve applications for a 14-day period (and possibly longer), although applicants can still submit their PIP requests. The filing fee of $580 is due when applying, and applicants risk losing this fee if they choose to apply while USCIS remains restricted from processing requests. It is essential to consult with a qualified immigration legal services provider before deciding to file.
