Safe and Productive Learning Afterschool Environment

CORAL AfterSchool Program

CORAL provides a safe and productive learning environment during the afterschool hours, when juvenile crime and substance abuse can peak. Students in quality afterschool programs have better academic performance, behavior, and school attendance and greater expectations for the future. The CORAL program is an extension of the school day, held until 6 pm every day school is in session. Students receive a free healthy snack, 60 minutes of homework help, and 60 minutes of balanced literacy instruction as well as enrichment opportunities like sports leagues, field trips, and science and art clubs. The program is entirely secular, neutral, and non-ideological.

We Are Hiring

The CORAL after-school program has achieved a decade of success with increased literacy rates and a reduction in the achievement gap for tens of thousands of at-risk students in San Jose’s highest-poverty and lowest-performing schools. CORAL utilizes a research-based education pathway strategy that is holistic, targeted, and consistent— charting progress from pre-K through middle school—and making a difference in 2,000 young lives each day.
