Empowering Refugee Youth on Their Path to Independence

What Are Host Homes?

Host Homes provide safe and supportive living spaces for older refugee youth as they transition to independent living. These youth are either enrolled in school, working, or a combination of both, and are determined to build successful futures.

Who Can Be a Host?

We’re looking for compassionate individuals, families, or households willing to provide a private room to an independent youth at little to no cost. Your role as a host is essential in helping these young people create a stable foundation for their next chapter.

How Does It Work?

As a Host Home: You’ll provide a safe, welcoming environment and minimal guidance to help youth maintain stability and focus on their goals.

Contract Arrangement: The living arrangement is formalized through a contract directly between the youth and the host home, ensuring clear terms for both parties.

Ongoing Support: While the host home relationship is independent, Catholic Charities provides case management services, including regular check-ins and resources to support the youth and the host.
