Become a Volunteer
Do You Have Time To Change A Life?
As a community volunteer, you can make a significant impact on improving life for many of your neighbors. Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County has a number of volunteer opportunities available. Depending on the program, you can choose to volunteer once or make an ongoing commitment. To help you decide, look at our list of volunteer opportunities to see what is available and what each volunteer job requires. All jobs list a contact to call or email for more information.
Please also read our frequently asked questions and review the application form.

Important Information For All Volunteers
In order to ensure a safe environment for our clients, volunteers, visitors, and staff, the following policies are mandatory. All volunteers who work more than one time with clients and/or with confidential information are required to:
Complete the background check portion of the application
In addition to the above, volunteers 18 years and older who work with clients and/or confidential information more than one time are required to complete the Live Scan fingerprint test. Some programs, by contract with Catholic Charities, require a current report (less than two years old) of a negative skin test for TB or a physician’s certificate of clearance before beginning service. Your volunteer supervisor will give you instructions on how to provide this information during your interview or orientation.
Individuals who do not comply with these requests cannot be accepted as volunteers.
